There are many different types of spices for many different types of things, and I would like to show you my favorite 7.
Thyme
Thyme is originally from mediterranean regions and was used in baths to make the water smell nice or as a medicinal herb. It is good with chicken, lamb, and pork and I sometimes like to eat it on turkey.
Oregano
Oregano is originated from mediterranean regions, central Asia, Europe, and north Africa. Oregano goes well with nearly any dish that uses tomato paste. And I love to use it on pizzas or tomato soup.
Fox Point
Fox point is a spice blend made by Penzeys Spices. It goes well with cooked vegetables and fish, and I really enjoy the clever blend.
Onion Powder
Onion powder originated from ancient civilizations but was first recorded in India and the middle east. It goes well in dry rubs meats, marinades, stews, sauces, and dressings.
Sometimes, it is also good on mashed potatoes!
Basil
Basil originated from India and parts of Asia and Africa. It had a wide range of uses from embalming rituals to love tokens. Basil goes good with pizzas, noodles, and some meats. I sometimes like to put it in sandwiches, too.
Paprika
Paprika is originated from south and central America and goes well in stews, spice rubs, eggs, rice, and marinades. It could also go well with mashed potatoes.
Sage
Sage is originated from mediterranean regions and Europe, and it has also been used as a medicinal herb. It is used as a spice, garnish, pasta, and sometimes soothing sore throats.
Spices are amazing and work like magic! If you know your stuff, you could get a cheap microwave meal to taste like a home-cooked meal fresh from the oven! I hoped this helped you, and thanks for reading
